About Us
New Functionalities in TouchWorks
Add Patient Photos, Carbon Copy Others

By Adrian Rawlinson, M.D.

We are happy to announce the addition of two new functions within TouchWorks EHR.

ADDING PATIENT PHOTOS
The first is the ability to add a patient photo into TouchWorks. Patient photos provide another way to check identification, which is an additional safety measure. The photos can be viewed on the Snapshot page.

To insert a patient photo:
  1. On the horizontal toolbar, click SnapShot.
  2. On the SnapShot page, click Update. (Far right)
  3. Select the appropriate file. You may need to search for your image.
  4. Click OK. The photo is displayed on the SnapShot page.

(Note: when a photo file is retrieved, it is scaled to 70 x 70 and saved in a .jpg format.)

To clear a patient photo from the SnapShot page:
  1. On the SnapShot page, click Update.
  2. On the Open Dialog page, click Cancel.
  3. On the Confirm message, click OK to clear the existing
photo.

Watch a short video on the Snapshot feature.

CARBON COPY FUNCTION
The second new function is the so-called To/CC function. This allows quick and easy communication in the form of a task, fax or print option. For example, you can copy your colleagues on a note in the form of a task. Or you could fax a lab or a note to a consultant or patient.

Watch this training video for a detailed overview of this functionality.

Please e-mail me with any questions about these or other modules within the TouchWorks EHR.

Thank you,

Adrian J. Rawlinson, M.D.
